Do you own one of the cars that made the list this year?
Although owning one of these makes and models doesn’t mean you’re doomed to have your car stolen, it does mean you should take precautionary steps to avoid theft, and that you should definitely consider purchasing comprehensive coverage for your car.
Comprehensive insurance covers damages to your car that occur when the vehicle is not being driven (with the exception of collisions from animals or flying rocks that chip the glass).
Comprehensive coverage also includes “Acts of God,” like flood and hurricane damage, as well as if your car is stolen or vandalized. Comprehensive coverage will also usually cover events such as fire, theft, hail, or windshield damage.
